I hope I can explain this without needing a picture...here goes...
From inside my '03 XLT, I can hear air coming in while driving. The sound is coming from the passenger door around the window seal or weatherstripping. If I push on the black strip, then it makes it seal up and there's no more wind noise.
I've taken a closer look as I've just discovered what that piece is. As the window rolls up or down, it's part of the "track" that keeps the window in place. On my Explorer, the weatherstripping seems to be pulling away from the frame at the rear of the door (the vertical portion).
I tried to press it back into place but it doesn't seem to have anything to grab on to. Does anyone know if that seal is supposed to just "snap in" to the actual door pillar? Or can I just get some weatherstrip adhesive and apply that?
I've tried finding a picture online but coming up empty...if a picture is needed, I could snap one later of exactly what I'm talking about.
