By the way, I didnt use no plates on the back, just nuts. The frame is pretty thick so I figured it should hold. The hooks I used are the cast ones and they came off an 01 X Sport.

I took my tow hooks off an '02 F-150. I doused the 4 bolts well with WD-40, waited a half hour and tried using a 1/2" drive 15mm socket to get them off. HA!

It took an impact socket wrench to get them loose. Maybe in corrosion-less states it'll be easy? Anyway, be sure to grab the mounting plates located within the tube-frame. They barely fit between the lower bumper fascia, so if it gives you some problems take your time. I used a long screwdriver to push it from the side of the frame the once I got ahold of it with a needle-nose, yanked it out.

Best of luck, sorry I only have finished pics...

Just got my hooks from an 03 F-150 on ebay. $20 shipped.

Those things are boat anchors! They're huge! But they fit nicely.

I might loose a mpg by installing LOL :D They have to be 5 lbs each.

Will take picks when I install this weekend and post.

Here is my write up if anyone plans to do this
Easy job, less than 1/2 hr and all you need is a socket set and small screwdriver

Will hooks from a 2009 work? Here is the link to the ones near me that are available.

They look very similar. Setup is the same in terms of how it mounts. But only measuring the distance between the bolts will tell for sure.

Consider the other type though... The ones you're looking at appear to be the welded type and not the solid cast one piece type which I believe is much stronger.
