Hello
day 1
Recently I took a drive down a flat county road to have 4WD engage and disengage with out me pressing any of the 3 buttons for 4WD. I tried removing the 4x4 fuses just to have it engage again all itself. when this happen I called AAA. AAA drops it off at my dads house. I try to diagnose the problem and don't succeed. a neighbor down the street lets me barrow her 99 Excursion. I have driven a Tahoe before but this thing is BIG.

day 4
We load it on a car hauler and take it to Frank's Auto http://www.autorepairmorganhillca.com/ . Frank Jr. comes to the concusion the is is the differential and tells me to Take it to Rear End Specialties. No Charge

day 11
Dad and I take it to Rear End Specialties. They say that it will be about a week before they can look at it as the had 3 rear ends on blocks at the time.

day 14
Rear end Specialties calls me back and say that its not the Differential that is bad, but the Transfer case and a front wheel bearing went out. Total bill is 60 bucks. Rear End Specialty says that it goes to Santa Clara Truck Wreckers a short drive down the way.

day 16
Dads says that he will Drive my explorer to Santa Cara Truck Wreckers. That's nice of dad since I have to work and dad is retired.

day 18
A $100.00 part and $250.00 in Labor Later
Santa Clara Truck says that the Front wheel bearing went out. Because the front wheel bearing went out and it is in 4x4 Auto ,the Explorer automatically engages 4x4 because not all front wheels are spinning at the same time.

What did I learn from this
NEVER BUY USED WHEEL BEARING!!!

All this trouble to diagnose a little problem like this. My dad says how simple cars use to be.
