can just the bearings be replaced or do i need the entire hub? going to be ordering parts for a brake job ( front only ) and everything needed for the ball joint replacements, figured while i had everything torn apart i would replace the bearings and get some new plugs/wires. there are 2 bearings per wheel right? i am seeing 2 types of bearings on the local parts house website, a conical and a flat bearing. are 1 of each needed per wheel?

You have AWD right? If its AWD or 4wd it is the hub. 2wd is the rotor and transferring the bearings after repacking them.

Ok, well its up to you if you want to buy the hub/rotor. If its still in good condition and wont wear the new pads you were going to put on the you can put new bearings in if you'd like. Normally at the shop we just repack the old bearings i cant remember ever replacing them unless they looked worn; you said you'll be doing brakes well if you order/pick up 2wd rotor you can if you'd like buy new bearings. There is an inner and an outer and you will need two of each one for each hub.
Outer:

Inner:

Also you'll need seals on both sides, so 2 of em total.

And then obviously the bearings need packed well. also make sure you've got replacement cotter pins.
