History: 2002 Ranger 4.0 SOHC, chipped, otherwise stock.
About a 2 months ago the fuel economy went in the crapper after some 4 wheeling. 20mpg down to 13mpg, no codes, no lights on on the dash.
I have always had a problem getting this transfer to shift into 4LO, sometimes it just won't go. No problem going into HI range.
Has anyone had an experience where the dash indicator light for the 4x4 went out, but the transfer was still engaged in 4HI?
I run it in 4 wheel drive in the winter when needed and live with the fuel economy, but that has only been 1-2 mpg in the past.
You cannot turn the front tires with it jacked up now either.
