In my '96 Sport, when it reaches about 1/4 tank the fuel level drops off much fast then it should, and when it's on E and I fill it up there is still about 4 gallons left in it. Is this typical for these or is my gauge and/or sending unit going bad? Do they have a tendency of going bad in this fashion? I have been meaning to crawl up under it and but some electrical grease on the tank plug too to see it it gets a better reading.
