Here are the symptoms:

--"Gas Cap" light came on around a month ago. I didn't worry about it and figured there was just a bad fuel presure sensor somewhere.
--Lately the engine has "sputtered" slightly when accelerating and has had low idle at stops. (I previously adjusted it to almost 1000 rpm at idle.)
--Two days ago, I drove the rig home and parked it. I came back out several hours later and the truck would not start. It turned over fine, batteries were great, starter was not slipping/grinding, and it had spark to all wires.
--Finally, yesterday, I went out and it started first try. It had no problems last night driving all over town, parking and starting. Oh, and the "Gas Cap" light turned off.

Are these symptoms of a bad fuel pump? Maybe the injectors? The engine is a '98 SOHC, swaped into my '97 after I hydrolocked the first engine. I can't afford for the rig to not start when I need it. Any help would be appriciated!!!:navajo:

(bump) Anyone have any ideas?

Try pulling DTC codes with a scanner. Gas cap light indicates an evaporative emission system leak. Try disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes to reset the ecm and see if it repeats this behavior.

I've cleared the codes a few times, but haven't cut the power in a while. I'll post again if it's still a problem. Thanks :)
