Fuel Tank Swap - 4 Door To Sport

Has anyone ever swapped a fuel tank from a 4 door to a Sport?

Looking to swap a fuel tank from a 4 door to a Sport for expanded fuel capacity, was wondering if anyone had any tips or specifications?

if its 4wd i don't think it will work as the tank is too long and would hit the t-case. 2wd...maybe?

People have gone the other direction so that can install electric shift on the transfercase. Never seen anyone go the way you want.

I agree, it will probably hit the transfercase if you are 4x4. If 2wd, may work.

Gotcha... Mine is 4WD, and since my fuel tank is rusted pretty badly (I have to change fuel filters bi-weekly), I need to put a new one anyways! Knowing the 4-door model has the bigger tank, I have access to tons at a JY... So I was hoping to kill two birds at once here!
