full parts list for tune up and advice

I am looking to do a full tune up on my 2005 Explorer. I was told by my mechanic that a tune up was never done on it and I have 173,000 miles on it (yikes). I have the work shop manual by Ford. my dad has a decent shop and I am sure I get get some help from him.

I am looking to do as much of it i can my self. I know that I need the following part:

Spark Plugs
ingnition coils
fuel filter
what else?

You could probably get a complete or near complete gasket/seal kit for $100-$200

Clean the throttle body with appropriate cleaner, so get yourself a gasket. PCV valve too.

Basically anything that comes off the engine and is not a bolt will need a gasket.

Plugs, coil boots and fuel filter (reuse coils.)
PCV as mentioned. Remove the throttle body and clean it.

Also, if you have the Explorer, it's a 4.6l V8.
The Expeditions came optional with the 5.4l.
