has anyone else seen the new rims and tires for 2002 ford is using on the ranger FX4 pkg, they are cool looking!! the rims are similar to eagles 589's but in a brushed finish with smaller holes and not panned quite as deep and they come factory mounted w/ BFG 31x10.5-16 AT KO's, i'll try to snap a pic on monday, i bet they'd look kick-a$$ on a 1st gen X

I saw a set of wheels on the new Mazda 4x4 that I like.
They are a three spoke aluminum. I will see if I can get a pic of them tomorow.

Here is a pic of the Mazda wheel I was talking about. They are 16".

Damn! Thats one nice looking truck! Oh, wait..its my truck. ;) Keep in mind the FX4 wheels are genuine FORGED Alcoas. Also, they are 15". They may not fit an early 4WD Ex because of the hubs, though. The center hole is pretty small.

Hmmm.........I got those rims(FX4). Right now they are real dirty, black almost cause I haven't been able to wash my truck will all this salt and snow and rain lately. Actually they look kinda like they have a gun metal finish.

They have one on the showroom floor here at the local FOMOCO, I like 'em.

sean...the truck looks awesome as usual

I actually went up and test drove the FX4 today, pretty impressive so far. They didn't want to pull the showroom floor one off, so the salesman let me drive his. He has one of the really limited packages, I can't recall the name. He got the 5 speed mans. with a chromed shifter and it has a CD/DVD player with the screen in the middle of the dash. I was impressed with the Rancho suspension kit. It has really cool front tow hooks, I am going to try to do something similar. 2 downfalls that I noticed. Crawl under and look at the bottom of the body under the doors. It has several large holes, like 4"x8", just open holes. I couldn't figure out what they are for, other than rust. Second, it comes with a 235/75 Good Year AT/S spare, alot of good that will do you. They couldn't even match up the spare to the rest of the tires?

Oh, and the other thing, $28,000, the salesman said he paid $23,000 with his Ford discount. There was an EDGE on the lot, it doesn't come with the tires and wheels and it doesn't have the Rancho Suspension and it was marked at $24,000. It was only 8 years ago, I bought my first Ranger 4x4 for $14,000. I t just blows my mind, how much things cost now, and yet they only want to give me $12,000 for my 2 year old X. Wouldn't trade for the world.

Um, if it had Ranchos it wasn't a Ranger FX4. The Rangers have Bilsteins.........much better. My sticker was $26,600. Got it for $21,400 with rebates and all. I also got it for $50 over the invoice. As far as the stereo that must be some kind of conversion that dealer has or the dealer just added it. I'll have to check on those holes after work. And the spare, they all suck. They just throw something under there til you can get the tire repaired. Most don't have a full size spare, at least that I've seen.

He called them Rancho's, the shocks were yellow and blue, is that what yours are? Maybe he just didn't know. And the gear shifter and radio were part of a limited factory installed option. The radio looked just like the typical Ford radios. Only a DVD.
You got a good price. He offered me $50 over invoice and $2500 rebate, but I am still $12,000 negative in my X so they gotta wait a couple years for me.

He was probably confused, as the F-150 FX4 comes with Rancho shocks, not even in the same league as the 'steins. Also, any in dash DVD or "Limited" option were dealer installed after the fact.

Maybe, he said they special ordered it, I don't know if that meant it was installed at the dealer or not.
Sweet truck none the less. I am glad to see that the manufacturers are starting to realize there is a serious market for guys like us.

By the way Sean, so you know why the holes are under the doors?

My 2001 Ranger has the holes too, I have stock nurf bars I have taken them off before and the holes make it ez to get to the nut brackets inside the holes maybe that is why the are thare.
Today I installed a set of 33/11.5/16 Goodyear AT/Ss I got them free they look new I am going to go try them this weekend to make sure they do not rub and maybe use them in Moab

You got a lift? I know a guy on another forum that has 33.10.50 on stock rims and a slight 1" torsion twist.

FX4X4

FX4x4 I have rear add-a-leafs they have me 2 1/2 inches for the rear and I got longer bolts for the T-bars that gave me 2inch for the fronts I had to adjust the front mud flaps but I have not had eney rubbing. I had a set of 31 10.50 15 BFG A/T on my 95 Explorer I did not like them they looked too skiny.
