So air shocks. You can put them on, but they wouldn't be the best for daily driving.

froader, that pic is just sick, lmao....

deviboy222, i think you might be confused with gas charged shocks as opposed to aftermarket coilover shocks...gas charged can go on stock vehicles as where coilovers take some fabrication to install...unless you have a stock size coilover in the rear to help when carrying a load in the bed and those are not the kind that replace the springs...

Or are you talking about an air bag suspension?

The Bilstein shocks are nitrogen charged shocks. They are normal shocks, but are a slightly different design than the standard shock. Most shocks are a twin tube design, whereas the Bilstein is a monotube. They are usually have a higher nitrogen charge to prevent the oil from foaming under heat and repeated cycles.
Bilstein shocks deliver superior performance from advanced technology. Bilstein's shock bodies are precision formed using a unique seamless extrusion process that provides superior strength. These bodies are then mated with a solid, induction-hardened chrome-plated and polished steel shaft, machined valving components and high quality seals. These gas pressure shock absorbers feature a self-adjusting working piston with spring-steel valving discs that precisely regulates oil flow for optimum compression and rebound control. These features along with several others take the Ranger's existing suspension to the extreme, providing excellent control, precise handling and durable performance in any off-road situation.
. Check out this link http://ford.off-road.com/ford/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=198972 as it is a nice article about the FX4 Level II package on rangers. But you can get Bilsteins for just about any truck out there. The Ranger still uses a torsion bar setup like every other ranger after 97 and 95-01 explorers.
