Gearing up for A4LD rebuild

Josh, does your problem have anything to do with the ambient temp, or are you sure it was an anti drain back valve? I guess if your problem is fixed then you figured it out, but I'm not sure why the sitting around would have anything to do with your symptoms if it's a ADBV.

It also had a bypass valve of some sort that stayed closed until there was a 6psi difference then it would start to circulate. I removed both. I think I got the bands too tight because when it kicks down from overdrive while on the highway, it really kicks aka a boom. So I need to get back under there and loosen them up.

Did you try the method that came with the shift kit to adjust the band or are you going with the 2 turns back?

Well I loosened the the bands up and everything seems to be back to normal. It seemed like the transmission was tight all around. it didn't accelerate very well before and now its fine again. I adjusted them out 2 turns, because thats where they seem to work best. I also got a wild hair up you know where and tore down my old trans. It was not as bad as I thought it would be. Keep in mind this trans has 249,000 miles on it, and I never replaced the filter.
