i drive a 93 eddie bauer 2dr 4x4 4.0 what gearing do i have or how can i tell, ive heard it says on the door but i looked and cant make anything of it. it looks like a bunch of random numbers and words thanks for help

it will say axel and there are 2 possable codes it will say 41 = 3.27 gear and d4 = 3.73

d4 -3.73 or better

Yes, I have 3:73 gears and LS. very helpful versus open diffs. and an ok gearing for climbing. 4:10's would be great.

My '91 axle/diffential factory gear ratio is 3:55 which is good if you want to do away with the overdrive transmission and run 31" to 33" tires.

Next time you change the gear oil, check the limited slip plates. They are like little clutch plates and wear out. Mine were gone after about 50,000 miles. I understand they are rebuildable.
