Having some fun now, new body mounts and a 1" body lift while I'm in there.
Had the vinyl mat in the '91 Sport - - not a great picture, but you get the idea. .Just happy all eight body mounts came out with no issues!! Planning on the sound deadening and new carpet or maybe a vinyl mat, anybody have a vinyl mat instead of carpet.
I really like your Spring perches here. Where did you get those?Rear shock mounts and spring plate all mocked up, need to get the fuel tank back in to final fit everything before I burn it all in. I picked up a NOS fuel pump off Ebay a few months back for $50 so even though the current pump was working it got a new one!!

Those are from Ruff Stuff they are actually go fast desert racer parts. Here's some better shots of the rear shock mounts, lots of room once you cut out the factory cross member/spare tire mount!! I'm going to cut a hole in the floor of the back end and sink a storage box where the spare tire used to live.I really like your Spring perches here. Where did you get those?
Thanks!! it's my second first gen build, I learned a lot on the first one I built 20 years ago.Really like the upper shock mount. Gives me some ideas on mine. I’ve been wanting to do something like this.. I’ve been running the shock adapters for the last few months and last week I had one fall off while down in south Florida… didn’t realize it for about 60 miles.. lost half of a brand new shock. Lol.
Love the look and the stance is amazing! Nice work!
Front springs are the "normal" Skyjacker 132's with a spacer on the bottom I made from coil spring lower mount that's used on mid 90's F150's and Bronco's. The rear spring pack is from a Sport Trac with a add a leaf and longer shackles (1.5") from Ruff Stuff 4x4 parts. I'm guessing at this point it's lifted about 3" front and rear, works perfect with the 265/75-16" (approx 32") tires I'm running on Dodge 1500 steel wheels.love the rig, nicely done. would you mind sharing we’re you got the coil springs and the leaf springs?
you mentioned those were 2 inch lift, was that actual or advertised lift amount or both?
was the 1 inch body lift to keep from rubbing or just for a little extra room just in case
thanks
Nice. Thank you. So the sport trac springs...I had wondered about those I’ve been digging around trying to find info on people that have used them. According to the specs from ATS there is a 3 3/16“ arch difference between stock explorer and sport trac, this doesn’t sound like what you achieved though is that right. So with the amount of lift you obtained with all this did you have to use drop brackets on the ttb?Front springs are the "normal" Skyjacker 132's with a spacer on the bottom I made from coil spring lower mount that's used on mid 90's F150's and Bronco's. No drop brackets used, I did the alignment myself (Ford tech since 1988) using the two way adjustable upper ball joint bushings. The Sport Trac spring didn't work out as well as I thought they might, they flattened out quite a bit.Nice. Thank you. if not how did the alignment go, Any issues getting it set right?
sorry for all the questions but your set up is very similar to what I’m seeking for my 94 limited.
