You could look into troubleshooting the TCM. But i'm not sure if that ties into the airbag issue somehow or not. I dont know where the TCM is off the top off my head, I have the V6 so mine has no TCM.

The TCM in the 6speed is in the trans. its on the valve body.

Im really thinking its the TCM or a wire/plug problem. all covered by my ESP warranty. the PCM isn't but the other warranty i got when i bought my Ex from the dealer gave a free lifetime engine warranty and that covers the PCM. so anyway im covered. lol

Im really hoping for something covered by the Ford ESP one because then i get a free rental. but the other one they could just order the part and then ill drop it off for a couple hours because a PCM change should only take 1 hour.

Crystal,

When i took it to another deal last week. I still had the RCM unplugged and of curse the day i had the appointment it was like only 75*F outside and normally when its cooler out like that it doesnt do it or as much. so the Tech was not able to make it do it when it was there but he plugged back int he RCM and it started giving codes and going into limp mode.

I would agree with him that it would be the RCM but, just the day before i took it in to this new dealer it was 100*F outside and with the RCM un-plugged it had the problem a bunch of time driving home from work and when i went to a friends house. So i know its not the RCM doing it.

The Dealer tech said sense the TCM is under warranty he stated that he would go ahead and replace it. But.... heres the problem. When they looked up the part to order it, it is back ordered till unknown time. They stated that Ford is currently working with a new part supplier and are unsure when they will be able to ship the part.

So currently im stuck with a truck that randomly will not shift out of 1st and then goes into limp mode and sometimes i can not get it out of it until its off for an hour or more when the trans cools down.

The other new thing i started to notice more and more after last week is it sounds like im hearing a whine that kinda sounds like a Transmission pump whine. Iv heard it once before on my 94 bonneville when its pump went. It doesn't sound like power steering because i hold it at an RPM and turn the wheel and the sound pitch does not change with the steering wheel. But it does change with the engine RPM and while driving/when it upshifts.

im really wondering if the trans is over heating. This all started on a hot week when it was 95-105*F outside.

Send me your information in a PM, banditxp; I'll look into this and see if I can help. Be sure to include your VIN, dealer, mileage, your full name, and a good daytime telephone number.

So I have the same problem did you fix it

the overlap between the 2 codes is a faulty PCM/bad connection, so id suspect that. and welcome!
