I replaced my parking brakes and now I want to replace the cables, but I can't figure out how to remove the cable from the bracket and lever. The spring along the cable seems to be holding the bracket and lever apart with a lot of force and even though I've got the other end of the cable free, I can't see to get anything loose on this end. Any tips on how to do this?

Thanks

The 2 levers protruding out the back between which the spring lies, may be removed together, after the brake shoe retractor springs are removed. The levers pass through a soft dust-excluding bushing. imp

Thank you for answering. Maybe this was a mistake, but I already put the new parking brake in there and replaced the rotor and everything. Do I need to take it all apart and take those parking brake springs off or is there some way to do it while it's all together. Thanks again.
