getting rid of that 4.0 and putting in that 5.0 HO

I'm going to be installing a 5.0 HO OUT OF AN 88 MUSTANG GT STOCK HP IS 225. IN MY 94 EXPLORER, I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A BODY OFF RESTORATION AND DECIDED TO GO WITH THE CONVERSION.
my question is why no one goes with the standard tranny out of the ford 1/2 ton trucks, the five speed they are the same length as the factory ford explores. isnt it? Also if anyone has some info on some problems i might encounter like which motor mounts to use or how much room there is going to be between the rad and my pullys, or if i'm going to need an electric fan, also who is doing all you guys wiring do you just mail this guy both harneses and he does everything if so how much? tks everyone!!!! hope to show you guys some pics.

To save any real money on the sawp you would have to use the stock t-case from the 1/2ton donor, AA sells a conversion tail shaft to mate a FS tranny to the stock t-case but it is not much cheaper than getting a full conversion for a AOD.... 6 of 1 half a dozen of the other :(
As far as size goes just about any fullsize tranny will fit, a C6 is the almost the same size as a AOD and 5speed trannys are smaller than auto's.

You can make anything fit with a sawzall :D
 






I have an 88 ho GT too!

just got it about a week ago, It didnt come with any accessories, will my alt, power stering fit on there?
If so what does it take to get them on there.
