I just ordered my new Alpine W200 to replace to Audiophile stereo in my Ex. I already have builtin Sirius which I don't want to lose, so I'll have to order the Sirius option for the W200 as well. Does anyone know if I can use the existing antenna thats already been drilled into the roof, or do I need to run another one?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not too familiar with sirius, but I know that most of the XM antenna connections are the same type from unit to unit. At least they used to be. I would think sirius to be the same. Most likely just have to call and switch your programming over from one radio to the other.

I pulled out the original headunit once, but I didn't see the Sirius antenna at all, only that odd-looking regular antenna socket. I just assumed it was somehow combined with the AM/FM antenna plug. I can run the extra antenna but it would be so much easier to use the original antenna that Ford already supplied.

Thanks.

I didn't even notice that it was an integrated system. Most likely it is using some sort of FM modulator somewhere. This is how the aftermarket "hard wired" XM kits work. Most cases it's a modulator that plugs between the factory antenna and the stereo then the sat antenna plugs into the modulator. Sorry I can't help with this, I have never done anything with the newer factory installed sat radios.

The sirius antenna has to be run to somewhere. Either the HU or a module in the dash, etc...

Atleast you're smart enough to stick with SIRIUS!

FTE!
