good ol stupidlift... (well, at least they are replacing the parts for free...)
Recently broke an axle drop-down bracket, passenger side. Welded it up, but need it replaced. Did a pretty good inspection, noticed one radius arm had a crack in it, probably about 1/2" long. The other side had a 1/4" long crack. So they're sending out the newer replacements which are supposedly more reinforced.
Also, the springs were sagging, so they are replacing those with the newer versions.
Planning on doing all of the work next weekend, so I get under there today to do a more thourough investigation, find that one of my radius arm brackets is cracked right along the line, the other one is bent and forming a crack along that line as well. So those are going to need to be replaced. So in other words, the only parts of the front suspension that DONT need to be replaced are going to be the stop blocks which limit the articulation, and the passenger side axle drop down bracket (which, believe me, I looked over REAL good).
So, about two years after having installed the superlift lift, everything except for the rear Spring Over Axle brackets, front axle stop blocks, and front drivers side axle drop down bracket need to be replaced.
I didn't think I wheeled it THAT hard, LOL.

No coment.

At least your covered under warranty.

I know the comment is "solid axle, solid axle, solid axle" but unfortunately I don't have the funds to do that...

Matt now you know why I would die to get back all my stock stuff. I would stuff it all back under it to get it stock untill I could throw a solid front axle under it. I have replaced everything up front at least 2 times if not more. I don't know how people can keep telling me I am weird for not wanting to daily driver this thing! LOL Only a few more weeks till I get my new stock explorer!!! :)

Well matt, it could of sounded like this:

Damn skyjacker. Checked the extended radius arms, they are installed upside down! They mislabeled the damn things! And my rear springs sag horribly, and the front; don't even get me started!

So I've called their tech support about this, WHAT TECH SUPPORT? Can't even get a decent answer on a warranty on the springs, let alone the extended radius arms.

Yes, the solid axle is the right answer for any hardcore wheeling.

Hey ryan, if you want a set of stock radius arms, brackets, and springs, you can have mine.. they are still sitting on the damn porch!

my skyjacker rear spring never sagged and neither did my front ....extended radius arms are not labeled wrong....done 3 lifts with skyjacker(never labeled wrong).........tougher than hell cracked the pass side drop bracket(8-10 ft. jump) no problem with the replacing .......sounds like that guy didn't know his head from his ass

i know i have seen it(upside down) but come on it's common sence....didn't the guy notice anything when his truck wouldn't track right (caster) talk about negative caster.....i still think skyjacker is by far the better bolt on lift......and if u notice ...80% of the ranger guys have the skyjacker kit off of recomondations

I'm not saying the skyjacker lift is better/worse.

I'm saying, matt would have a different set of problems.

Nothing is perfect.

Tom do u want to take this outside!!!!! :)

I think I can drive over your explorer.. so bring it on over!

:)

I think I can drive over your explorer.. so bring it on over!

u might be able to if i get my willys jeep and my strap and pull u on to the hood but then u might blow a side wall on those 35" MTR's :)

What kind of lift shouild I get so I dont have these problems in the future?

None! LOL There is no kit that doesn't have problems. The only way you will not have problems is if it was custom built!

The only ones I know of that don't have really bad problems are the 2.5" lifts from Duff and Rancho.

Once you get to 4, 5.5, 6" of lift, your into a world of problems.

Your right Tom! I just don't think anyone can build a quality TTB system that is tall for a good price.

Guess I'm happy!?

I have the S/L kit with S/Jacker radious arms and front springs. I've never had any problems related to the quality. However, I did see a need and built a skid plate that runs from the trany cross member to the driver's side drop braket. The Skdplt dies everything together and protects the trany engine and exhaust.

i have had my 4 inch traimaster for a year and a half now and i think that i have wheeled it pretty hard both in California and i colorado and i have never broken or bent any parts of it. i have had one of my Rancho 9000 shocks explode on me as well as a lot of the stock ford pieces break but my lift has never been a problem. so i feel very comfortable in recommending the trailmaster.

Nick
