Stock shocks on my 98 XLT suck, as most of you probably already experienced.. My question is: what are good replacement shocks.. strictly for street use.. I'm looking for a smoother, less bouncy ride.. No off-road use for me...

My uncle insists I get Rancho RS5000's but I wanna get a few opinions first... What do ya'll think?

THANKS!!!

The Rancho 5000 shocks are a good choice. You might also consider the Rancho 9000x shocks; I run those and love em.

Good luck .....

where to buy...

I decided to go with the Rancho 5000's... Also, many posts show that they cost under $40 each.. Where can I find 'em for this price? The lowest price I found so far is $40.95 (summitracing)... Are there any other places that sell 'em cheaper?

Thanks a lot guys... this is a big help.. I love these forums!

i looked around for the pricing on the 5000 andfound exactly what you did 40.95 or 40.99. i had some 5000's on a ranger about 2 years ago and loved them but i could have sworn they were only like 32 bucks when i bought mine

RS5000s are a middle of the road shock. Ok for most terrain but not great. The thing that bothers me about them is how noisy they are. Squish squish squish every time you go over a bump or have any major suspension movement.
