Just be careful with the throttle around any small boroughs that have their own police and you'll prob be okay.

In PA, there are two types of emissions tests. If you live in an area that does sniffer tests (cities and suburbs), you have to pass the tailpipe emissions test every year. If you live in a rural area, there is no sniffer test, but the vehicle must be equipped with all of the original smog equipment (or equivalent replacement parts). If you can't pass either one of those, you can't get your vehicle inspected.

well since this thread is brought up again, i got away with no warning the other day. cop pulled me over for loud exhaust ( i have both cats and a thrush into a turn down before the axle ) and he asked me why it isn't ran all the way out. i explained to him that i'm in an offroad club and that my axle was hittin the exhaust when flex'd out all the way (giving him arm motions to explain it the whole time). he learned somethin so he let me go with, don't get beat up too bad when your out on the rocks.

was a good day.

oh and to this day, in bend, oregon... i have been pulled over 12 times total in 2 different vehicles for numerous violations (tint, exhaust, stereo, clear turn signals (unapproved lighting), not signaling, seat buckle, etc.) and never once have i had a ticket. KNOCK ON WOOD!!!

i am soooooo glad i live in rural oregon i do not have to deal with any of that s!@$ we drive our quads on the road and just wave to the cops and they wave back

I'm not sure about VA but I know in NY all vehicles newer than 25years old are subjected to an emissions test. Theres nothing in the inspection book that says bigger exhaust is grounds for a failed inspection. Look at all the rice boys they sound like a swarm of bumblebees whacking weeds at 3k rpm.

However, even though you can't be failed for it you can still be ticketed it, some cops are cool and let it be others are a-holes. Same with aftermarket tint.
