Hey yall!

I have returned undaunted from the fray.

Heres the list of plans for the Mutineer:

SAS: DANA 60 front & rear using 4-link and coilovers in Ft
and
Leafs in rear (will go to 4 link later)

NP203 TrannyCase

88 Mustang GT drivetrain (HO 5.0 with GT40 Heads and a bunch of goodies and a 4 spd tranny)

Torque Montser Headders

12 PT Cage

AND

Im going to crop the back from the front of the rear windows back.

Also a spare carrier in the rear (the 45 Degree one)

Tubular bumpers and a winch on a reciever so I can use it ft or rear.

WHEW!

I am in the process of buying a house with a garage to work in, so progress will be delayed untill end of April, but Im shopping for parts now!

Any Suggestions, Yall??

The motor you have is a lot better than an '88 GT motor. Why do you want to swap in that one?

I agree with section about the engine. The rest sounds pretty good, especially the house. Congrats on that!

So the 5.0 I have is better than the HO out of the Stang???

Would the HO be good for replacement parts or are they THAT different?

I feel like I have NO Power from my GT40... It gets up and goes, so the torque is there, but no horsepower...

To run 37 or 38's... What gearing should I get in the D60s? I am thinking 4:56...

Cool...I will go for the 5:38. I want to be able to crawl alittle, but not a whole lot, that sounds like it would give enough torque to do the Job.

Whats better about the GT40 from the HO? Am I calling the stock 5.0 in the Mountaineer correctly by calling it the GT40?

I Know how to fix 'em, but the subtle little differences, which one is better for what, and what year came with what VIN and such, I am not so good at. :D

I dont believe so, I will check this evening when I get home from work....

Nope, No EGR Tube on the headers. (yes, they are actually headers on mine, not manifolds) but they are restrictive...they look like they are flattened out in some places.

What options besides the Torque monster headers do I have??? I really like them, but its hard to come up off of 700 bucks...:wtf:

If you have the FMS headers now, the TM headers are your only other choice.
 






I was afraid of that Its all good though. I will order them ASAP and get them on very soon.

do they hook up to the OEM pipes? I got true duals W/O cats right now...

Should I have a crossover pipe? or an X pipe? does anyone make a pre-fab set for us?
