GWNF Fourth of July Weekend 7/3-7/7 at Camp Fishfood and Shoe Creek

looks like there is minimal overnight "camping" at my place so I am not even going to clean out camping spots..... sounds like it is only xeek and will sleeping at my place so there is plenty floor space. No one has claimed dibs on guest bedroom so that already has the queen air mattress. and living room has sofa... guess we have to camp in air conditioning......

will based on the limited turn out I would not go to extremes on bringing pork....I have not planned anything (party etc) with any non explorer members..... so we don't have a large group to feed

Jd you ought to just throw your bike in with Xeek and come up for the scenic motorcycle rides.... and just camp in the basement. you can get your truck ready for the next trip.

Those with dogs.....(if any) fireworks are downstream and around the oxbow so the noise will not be so intense at the house.... dogs can stay in basement while we drive down to the private boat landing to watch the show.

Man what happened to everyone? ?:(
I would love to go but freddy is going up on Wednesday and no way I can afford or take that many days off.I'm debating coming up Friday night but that's REALLY far to drive for just two short days.plus I just can't really afford gas and food.hate to say it but looks like I will be missing this one:(

guest room occupied

someone (non explorer) just notified me with dibs on the guest room for Saturday night..... so it is still available Wednesday through Friday.

I hope the river goes down it is really high and fast now..... for a point of comparison, the spot where I got my ex so terribly stuck last fall is probably 5feet under water now.

this is probably my last post before I go up there in the sticks. you guys can still reach me via phone and email.

yeah I'm Facebook friends with that place we ate at last year, Tavern on the James and they have been posting pictures of the river. It doesn't even look like the same river. I bet its so fast you can barely even swim in it,if you can at all..:(

Well y'all be safe and have a good trip..really wish I could have gone!!

We would like to claim the guest room for possibly Thursday and Friday. I'll call you today to discuss.

I am very interested in checking out Peavine.

If not Peavine then Stoney Run. With all the recent rain, I'll bet is good and muddy at the end.

So who is planning to wheel? and when?

Friday morning is my suggestion.

riding time

ok meat you got the study/guest room for Thursday and Friday, but call if you aren't coming so I can let Will or Xeek slide in there if empty. Steve and Lynn (from Dinners) are the ones who claimed it for Saturday night.

bring your maps for peavine.... looks like you have found a different one from what I found.

I am heading up there (cabin) within next couple hours

I have the Buena Vista Quad sheet.

The entrance is on Route 60 across from SR 605, FR 39.

I am back at the house. Yesterday we did the Peavine Mountian trail. Lots of rain befor the run. A good trip.
