Ok i've got a couple simple questions. I'm wanting to put in a hand throttle just like Derrick C (this is a pic of his setup btw). My questions are really easy, what is the part called that he used to secure the loop at the end of the throttle cable. The only other thing I want to do is add a length of ball chain in between the end of the hand throttle cable, and the thottle on the truck (to prevent any possible binding). Any thoughts??

Thanks

zip tie? :)

I dont think that the zip tie will hold tight enough to keep the loop from comming apart. That metal barrel he has looks just like one of the pieces from my old erector set...i guess I could go dig that out of my parents basement and try to find that piece but there has to be something better than that.

Thanks!

I got that lil piece at a bike shop. I don't know the real name, I just described it and they brought me out one! How about "cable crimp", although I vaguely remember the word 'barrel' being mentioned.

I've seen ball chain on a Jeep with a hand throttle, and thought it was a smart idea. I haven't had any problems without it, though.

I would think a zip tie would work nicely, its strong and you can get it as tight as you want.

Cool thanks...I hate going to places like bike shops auto parts store what ever and soundling like an idiot...i do that enough :). I doubt i'd ever have a problem by not putting a ball chain but I thought i'd better be safe than sorry. Anyway thanks for the help!
