I have a 94 explorer and I just completed my SAS. It has the A4LD in it like most of you know, and it seems to shift hard ever since I finished the SAS. I didn't drive it for about two months while I was working on it. It has a rear locker now too , if that matters. It also delays when I put it in reverse and then clunks pretty hard into gear making a "ding" noise. The driveshaft turns a 1/4 turn when I put it into reverse and it goes into gear. That is what causes the "ding" noise. Anyone no what the problem could be? I have heard that by changing the reverse servo will stop the delay, but what about the intense clunk?

Yes all u joints are replaced

The fluid is at the correst level also. And I also did a flush about 6 months ago so the fluid should all be fine.

Man put the truck in N and get under it with the wheels stopped and see how much driveshaft play you have.
