Hi guys, I have been lurking here for a while and this board has been super helpful to me in the past. Unfortunately I could not find an answer to my question from searching so now I have to ask.
My 2000 XLT (5.0 AWD 140,000 miles) has been hard to start the last few mornings. It has been cool (below 60, that is cold here). It cranks strong, I will let it turn over for 5-10 seconds and nothing. Try again, nothing. Usually it will go on the third time. After it runs it is good for the rest of the day. It runs fine the only other problem (engine wise) appears to be a slow coolant leak. The check engine light is not on (after it starts).
I recently changed the oil and spark plugs. There was no issue there. As for the rest of the maintenance history, I am not sure since I got it used.
I thinking the first step is to check for codes, after that fuel pressure, and then I am not sure where to go. Any help you guys could give
would be great.
