Has anyone pulled the front undercarriage cover yet? Surprise...

So, while mine was getting torn down to find wiring issues or loose connectors, we saw something surprising...

The front "axle" assemblies go through the block. Yikes. Best we can figure is that it was done to keep the vehicle.lowered to the ground.
 






Yeah, took a good look at mine when I did my first oil change a few weeks back. Didn't see anything alarming, on the contrary, I was impressed with the engineering.
 






Mopar has been doing it for over 10 years in the awd charger--300

Trailblazers and envoys are also the same. Lots of and cars do that too.
