Has anyone put on Borla Headers?

I just got my borla headers and I was wondering if any of you guys have any tips on putting them on. Also could you add some do's and don'ts. Thanxs in advance.

I take it from your user name you have a 94 - 4.0... I'm anxious to hear how your install goes. I would like to do the same thing to my '93. Are you doing headers back to the factory cat? What sort of cost did the Borla system run?

I plan to put on the borla headers. They run to the cat. Then I am going to put on a Flowmaster 40 Series muffler, then a Y to a custom duel. I am going to try to do the headers myself but I am going to have a shop do the welding and the custom pipe bending. The Borla headers cost about 280 with shipping and a coupon from carparts.com

When I first posted this topic I kinda made a mistake I made to say that I just ordered my headers not got them. But today I Got my headers and I want to them on so bad. Too bad there is about 8 inches of snow outside and I have no room in my garage. Damn weather! I will just have to what to put them on when it dries out.

Oh boy, you are in for some fun! First, soak the bolts with WD-40 or similar repeatedly for several days before doing the install (still won't help much). You will want to pull both inner fender wells to get access, with all this implies. Have spare sockets handy, or get a good set of impact sockets. I broke several snap-on and craftsman sockets on my manifold bolts. Try and have a friend handy to help, as well! If you smoke/drink/chew, whatever, keep a good supply on hand, as this is a very frustrating job! You might also consider buying a new o2 sensor as long as you are at it - it may save you some hassle later. When you get to the driver side header, drop the starter! It makes things much easier. Everything is going to be a learning curve on this. I've put headers on a lot of vehicles, and this was one of the biggest pains!! I hope this helps a little and doesn't scare you off of the job Dead Link Removed.
