First time poster here. Wanted to see if I was going crazy.

So we've been looking at 2015 Explorer Sport models. I looked at two separate Sports and one had a base price of $42,670 and then the other had a base price of $43,100. Even the options now are priced slightly higher such as the 401a package was $4,290 and now it $4,300 (not a big difference).

Any idea why? Apologize if this was discussed elsewhere.

Prices typically go up during the year...it all depends on when the vehicle was manufactured.

When we were shopping for our 2014 Sport (trying to find the exact one we wanted), we noticed that a few had an earlier build date had a slightly lower MSRP, even with the exact same options. Ford absolutely increases the price as the dates slip by. They figure if demand goes down, they can always offer incentives. Our salesperson confirmed this.

Yup, prices go up.. the 2015 Superdutys have had 2 price increases in 7 months and have also removed a few things from being "standard" to now "optional at a cost".
