Hazards won't turn off unless I press the brakes.

'93 Explorer 4.0L auto4x4
Hazards stay on constantly on my 93 XL replaced all bulbs checked fuse replaced both flashers? checked wiring to an extent without removing dash. Any suggestions? BOO switch works (goes to 0 ohms when depressed)

Did you try unhooking the hazards switch?
 






See if the brake pedal/linkage is rubbing on a wire harness and shorting the hazard circuit.

Here are some diagrams from the '94 EVTM book. One of them is for testing the multi-function switch, which is relatively easy to take out and test. It's pricey, so it's worth testing before replacing as a guess. I have heard of more than one person pulling these at a junk yard and getting bad ones, so... yeah, I might start here, myself.

Thanks a whole lot Needed these for the first round.
 


















It was a short in the wiring which in turn shorted the emergency switch . rewired and replaced multifunction switch.
