Head unit removal

I was wondering how to remove the premium sound head unit from my 02 eddie bauer. i have the u-shaped removal keys, but there aren't any holes in the unit for them to fit into. do i need to remove the "wood" panelling aound it or some other tool?

If there are no din removal holes, then I guess you need to unscrew the bolts holding that center panel on and go from there.
