headboard storage bin latch

Ok this might sound funny but i can't open the large storage bin in the bed. I always thought that the latch (the other 2 small box's have) was broken off and missing but now kinda see that there is some mystery latch.? The dealer never showed me how to open it so im lost.

There is a lever on the drivers side in the box above the wheel well

I didnt know about the lever to open the box when I was shopping for my Sport Trac and on my first test drive I stood in the bed and ripped the box open like the hulk. I didnt end up buying that v6 anyways
