will the cast headers from a 99 fit in a 98 5.0 .also what the last year they put 5.0 in the explorer? would a 2001 go in a 98 or are there big changes? thanks!

thanks, but do you know of any big changes from 98 to 2001 motors
 






96-01 have the same manifold.
not sure if there are other changes in the motor, but the exhaust manifold/ header selection would be the same parts.
 






The only major difference is the return-less fuel system that started in '99. The cast manifolds should bolt right up. Your best bet is buy the Torque Monsters and be done. The stock manifolds both steel tube & cast are biggest restriction in the exhaust system.

Wrong. 96-early/mid 97 are internal EGR which do not have an EGR tube like the late '97 and up external EGR.

1999 to 2001 had cast iron exhaust manifolds.
 






Ah! sorry totally spaced the egr, sorry about that, and thanks for the correction.

and yes, go with the TM's and call it a day. you'll be happy you did it.
