'98 Explorer Sport OHV
Well, after long and heavy research on the net while eating some ice cream, i've come to the conclusion that headers for a 98 explorer sport (4.0 ohv) do not exist. If you have any idea where I could possibly find these, it'd be a great deal of help. As for the dual exhaust, I plan to go custom but you are more then welcome to suggest something more ideal. I'm almost looking for an ideal superchip/chip for my car. I've looked and looked, and maybe i'm not looking hard enough, but I know it's out there somewhere. Any help is really useful. thanks again -alexis

If you're 98 still has the OHV, 95-97 model year headers should work. I'm not positive, but when the SOHC option came out the OHV driveline and setup still remained the same. I've got the JBA's and they're great. I wouldn't recommend headers though if you're not planning on forced induction, NOS, or internal engine work. I got mine 'cause I was looking forward to the supercharger. I lost low end torque but gained high end hp. Definately a trade off. The same will happen if you get dual exhaust: it will open the exhaust up too much. I'd recommend a single Magnaflow or Flowmaster setup with 2.25" piping. Many members have found this is the best combo for keeping (and enhancing) low end while helping the top end. As for the chip, there should be some out there by superchip and/or hypertech. I have a hypertech from my 96 OHV/auto for sale. If the computer codes match you can have it. :)

Good luck!
