Headlight Tinting

I have stock headlights with white Oracle plasma halos around the housing. I'd like to tint the headlights a little using a lamin-x pre-cut film but am concerned about visibility at night and visibility of my halos during the day. Would I need to upgrade my bulbs to a brighter output? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

You could just tint the amber section of the headlamp if you don't want to compromise lamp brightness or open them back up to remove the amber reflector.
