:navajo:the other morning here in Cleveland had us at a wonderful 1 degree. I started my Explorer and after about 5 minutes I noticed a strange smell. It seemed to me to be the smell of burning electronics.

I had the heat on the highest fan speed. It was in the defrost position. I noticed that I could no longer use my fan at any speed other than high. The smell is still there 3 days later. I dont have any blown fuses and the heat still is nice and warm. I just can't use the fan at any speed but high.

I have called a few auto parts stores and they are not sure of what I need. Any ideas?

Fan speed sensor might have burned out, which would explain not being able to adjust the speed. I could be wrong, but start there.. check the condition of the sensor/wiring.
