Seeing the front shocks on my explorer bothers me. I don't understand the reason it doesn't have a full shock, that little bar just looks weird. So I did some checking.
The part number for Rancho RS 5000 is RS5229 http://www.justsuspension.com/rancho-rs5000-shock-absorber-rs5229.html
Looking at the mount numbers I found RS5128 http://gorancho.com/shock_lookup.ph...WD&height=Stock&submodel=All+Models&x=41&y=10
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kit...&emlprox=out&gclid=CNTii9eij7QCFQ2znQodaGMAtA
It's meant for Jeeps, and I'm guessing it's a full bodied shock since it has a shorter collapsed length and longer extended length
So extra travel potential (assuming the shock is a major limiting factor....) and it'll look better.
However, one website said the lower mount is XP5 not XP4, so has anyone tried these before?
Lets make our explorers look like they have SOME travel up front!
