Hello all.
New to Fords and new to Explorers.
I just came into possession of a '97 Explorer XLT. Its 4.0 V6 RWD, I'm pretty sure OHC, not SOHC.

I got this beauty because at my new job, a previous employee (who'd quite before I started there) abandoned it because he couldn't get it to start. It had been sitting for over 1 year before I got it.

A quick search on the internet told me a common problem on these trucks is the crank position sensor. So with a new one of those, a new battery, and a fresh gallon of 91 gas, the girl started right up.

Now a few days later, its starting intermittently rather than reliably. The "Check Gauge" light illuminates on the dashboard when it refuses to start. Is there another sensor I should change out? Where is the Cam position sensor on these engines?

I noticed a sensor plug is missing a wire, can somebody tell me what this is and if it's important?

Some other problems include: Its leaking coolant from somewhere unknown, The door ajar light stays on when all doors are closed, it leaks some other fluid dripping from the drivers side rear wheel well.

Thank you all for your input!
