2004 Explorer XLS
Hi all!

I just recently purchased a 2004 Explorer XLS and I joined this forum to get access to the wealth of information shared by its members.

My first challenge is getting the A/C vents working in the center console. From reading some of these posts... I need to be focusing on the vacuum lines.

Thanks! I had time this weekend and pulled my glove compartment box out so I could get access to the lines from the inside. I was able to identify the line that fed the vacuum motor that controlled the center vents and traced it to behind the center console.

I pulled the center trim to reveal the lines connected to the A/C control and lo and behold, there was that same vacuum line pinched between the bottom trim of the dash and the steel frame (don't know how that happened)!

I was able to wrestle it free and TA-DA.... center vents open and close again!!
