I just want to say hello as a new member of this forum. I am currently looking to buy a 2000 or 2001 explorer as my daily driver and i thought it would be great to read more about them and get peoples oppions if this is a smart move or not. I have a 93 typhoon that sits in the garage and a 92 s10 that i just sold so i need a daily driver. Looking for a 4x4 and a clean truck for a good price. Well let me start searching.........

Welcome to the site

Both 2000 and 2001 are good years. Personally I recommend either the 4.0 OHV or the 5.0 V8. The 4.0 SOHC is the most problematic of the bunch.
