Welcome to Explorer Forum! DING! DING! That would piss me off, but they should get it fixed.

Well so far it is a self healing problem. That is when it gets to the work shop it has healed itself!! Anyway we will persist !!!!!!
Just got it back today and so far so good. In Australia Exs in general have a very poor reputation. It translates to lower initial cost. Mine cost AUD $24 000. Thats at least AUD $20 000 cheaper than a similar Toyota ( Sahara ) Leather ect.
I still like the car. Size, shape, options, ect, are all what I wanted.

welcome

Hi BrooklynBay
Yea I read Tbars4 thread about WD-40. But I am not so sure. Will wait and see. Will try that fix if it goes again and keep you posted.

...Any update on this???...

Yea tbars4, sorry but time flys :D
Nothing much has happened. The shop looked at it and said that it had self healed again. They couldnt isolate which sensor was causing the problem. It has happened again on several occasions but what I have done is just press 'Reset' on the dash panel and the warning goes away.( probably what they do in the workshop anyway!!!!) So far I am happy with that. I took out an extended warranty when I bought the car which runs for three years or 50 000 Kms. Cost Australian D$1600. I guessed it was cheap when compared to a new gearbox ( Australian D$8000). So as far as standard warranty goes ( 3 months ) its an OK deal I suppose.
Apart from this no other problems with the car. Talked to some local guys who have the earlier models and they are all happy with them.
Well thats it at this stage. We are still happy with the car
After reading some more posts on this site I was considering adding a cooler to the gearbox but as I have been busy havent looked into it too hard.

...Thanks for the update and I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your X...:D
