1996 Ford Explorer XLT
Hello All, Joined your site to hopefully get to chat with some members and get some new ideas and maybe share some too! I have a 1996 Explorer XLT, 4.0 engine. Looking to do some modifications etc to it. Dont find a lot of parts etc online for these as far as lifts etc, will be kinda fun to have a wheeling rig and get decent milage at the same time, i have experience lifting 1960's and 1970's Ford and Chevy and 1 Chrysler product with tires ranging from 33's to 44's back in the 1990's, Have not done much with IFS suspension. Looking forward to chatting with you all. :

Welcome to the forum:chug:

You can do a lot without spending too much money on the 2nd gen. Cranking up the torsion bars, shackles in the rear, and a body lift make for a relatively easy way to get 33s under the 2nd gen Explorer.
