HELP!! and yes the MILLIONTH time asked question on this site
I know its been asked and asked and asked,

I went and slipped and took a bullet for the instrument cluster white faced gauge swap from a 2001 explorer sport trac into my 1995 Ranger XLT

as asked a million times before and I need the help.

I need help with the pinouts to repin for the warning lights

even if some one can give me the link to the information I need to repin so I can get the lights working

I took all my guts from the 95 and swapped over into the 2001

only thing I am using from the 2001 is the faces of the gauges and speedo

so I need to repin my check engine, door ajar, check fuel cap.

anyones help with pointing me in the right direction for this infor mation or post a link to follow for the inromation I need to get my truck up and running again,

hell Ill even make a video and post it to youtube.com for others to see what needs done for this swap.

all I could find is this which I am sure helps these owners but not anyone after these years

You’ll fair best doing it old fashioned way. Find the MIL circuit coming from the pcm or from the obd port and run it directly. Take a multimeter to the harness for signals etc

I do not think you understand what it is I am doing and what I need
I am using only the white faced off the 2001 Explorer and placing them on my 1995 Ranger cluster
The Tach works (because its the one out of my 1995) everything works fuel gauge, speedo gauge, tach gauge, temp gauge, water gauge, (almost everything works) but I need to Move the pins (the power plugs) from the places in the 1995 ranger harness C216 and C215 and C214 to fit the warning lights in the 2001 sport trac cluster warning lights
I have seen the information somewhere but I swear I cannot find it again....
So I am in need of the repinning (moving the check engine, door ajar, check fuel cap) to light up correctly on the 2001 white face cluster face only and using all my equipment in my 1995 Ranger.

So here is what I found and did to swap the 2001 Explorer white faced cluster panels into my 1995 Ranger using all my 1995 gauges and housing with the plastic board.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
CONNECTOR C216 PIN# 3 PK/LG
MOVE TO
CONNECTOR C215 PIN# 4 (MINE WAS EMPTY)

DOOR AJAR
CONNECTOR C215 PIN# 3 BK/O
MOVE TO
CONNECTOR C214 PIN# 6

FUEL RESET ( WHICH IS INERTIA SWITCH ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR TO SHUT OFF FUEL INCASE OF IMPACT)
CONNECTOR C214 PIN# 6 GY/O
MOVE TO
CONNECTOR C214 PIN# 3 (MINE WAS EMPTY)

Took pictures of all gauge settings prior to pulling dash apart and removing needles from panel.
After I got everything together (re-pinning) I left face lens off to expose needles so I could set them correctly.

I then started the truck let it idle for 20 minutes set my RPM needle at just below 1000 RPM from picture I took, I put my other needles approx center setting for my TEMP, OIL, and BATTERY. Then I drove to fuel station filled tank and set fuel needle just slightly to right edge of black marker above the F, (it use to go way past the F before but I do not mind having a little reserve fuel in take). then set up my GPS drove to the freeway and set my cruise control to 60MPH and set my Speedometer needle to match,

I then Drove home seated all my needles to correct height as to not hit/scrap on panels.
Been doing fine for the week I have been driving it. And it looks GREAT......

Also I used new Needles I bought off EBAY
The only mod I had to do to get them to fit correctly was cut them shorter to set on pins of gauges and for the Battery I pulled the metal tab out of original needle and drilled a bit larger hole in the ebay needle and push the metal tab into the new needle and it set just fine on the battery gauge no gluing or other mod and it is not sloppy or loose works like factory.

Hope this helps others with a 2001 Explorer white face cluster panel swap into a 1995 Ford Ranger......???
