Battery is dead and the key won't work in the door. Does anyone know any tricks that don't include AAA, Locksmith or breaking windows to get in to charge the battery?

Thanks

Mike

Nope.

But why wont the key work? Did you try the rear hatch??

i didnt know the key wouldnt work if the battery was dead.....did u use the *right* key?...jus askin?...or do u have the keyless entry thing where u hit the button and it opens?...

try the key in all three doors,............if the locks are frozen or dirty it might not turn,......then in that case take a can of WD40 wit the little red hose thingy on it, and stick it in the locks and spray the crap out of them and the key should turn,...............I work with AAA, and that trick works all the time

I dont know about a 98 but when i couldnt get into my 93 i just pryed the back window open. It opens pretty easy, i just slipped my hand under the glass and pulled til it opened, be careful though and dont hit urself with the glass.

I don't get it? How did you pry the window open and what did you use to pry it with??

stick a clothes hanger between the hatch and glass to the back little lock peg. have a little hook on the end so you can pull it up

I don't know about an X but on a Towncar you take the little jack handle for your FLOOR jack (you know the one with the little ears sticking out on one end) and reach up from below pop the hood, charge the battery for an appropriate length of time (slow is better) and then use your remote to open as needed.

Slip ur hand under the glass itll move, because its not on tight, then pull it up. I did it the other day when i locked my keys in teh car and i dont have a spare

Do you have the tow package with a trailer hookup?
