help-drive shaft noise???

ok i have 1997 merc. mounty, the transfer case is popping. I thought it was the cv axle so i replace that but it is still making the noise. I took out the front drive shaft and it stopped the noise but i just wonder if it is the output shaft bearing or maybe in that ball thing on the drive shaft???????

Could be the front drive shaft. Check the rubber boot on the cv end for cracks. You have to flex it out to see them.
