ok i've listened to what u've said and done some research. so i'm ready to lift my x... first since i'm an undergrad student(graduating in summer, about time:confused: )funds are short and my original idea of a 3"bl and running 33's quickly became expensive:eek:  i decided on doing the truck in stages... a little bit a year as mainly $$$$$ became available... so here's what i'm gonna do...
1. 3" body lift , run 31X10.5X15 on us wheel's black and chrome 15X8, 3.25backspacing or stock rims and edelbrock performer ias shocks to help offroad and control body roll, (i've heard alot of good things about these shocks) thats it... maybe i'll put some coil spacers on or put warrior shackles on but i doubt it cause i want to put a large suspension lift in time on anyway...
2. this will happen probably next year, or when the $$$ permits. 4:10, or most probably 4:56 gears and arb air lockers.. i figure i'll kill two birds with one stone and maybe save on some labor since this is the only modification that i will leave to someone who has done it before. (i have not decided definatly on arb lockers yet, however i do like the idea that the truck runs stock then when offroad and when the need for severe traction is needed, poof flick a switch and the rear is locked.. since the truck is mainly going to be a daily driver.. but i still have some more research to do and i am up for any comments suggestions etc.)
3. i can't wait to get to number 3.. 6" superlift stage II, running 33X12.5X15 on the uswheeels from step 1.
4. new james duff bumper with winch ect...
so what do u guys think....
anthony:thumbsup: :thumbdwn:????????

When you get that thing lifted check out www.paragonap.com a bunch of us go wheeling there about once a month. next run is february 15 and 16.

my 2cents, put together a savings fund and wait till you have all the money to do exactly what you want,(step 3) otherwise you will do a little, and always want more. Once you have about 3g's, you can put on your big lift and big tires and you will be set You will probably save money in the long run, because you wont be spending money on things that you will be ditching later on (i.e. the body lift). (i started with 2"lift and went to 6")
Its your money, but that is just my 2 cents worth. I know how it is though. once you get an idea, you want to do it now.

good luck

Andy

Suspension Setup has Changed

after some thinkin on my part of what i expect out of my X i have decided to change how i was going to lift my truck...
i'm still gonna do the 3" body lift - for $85. dollars how can u not, i'm going to run skyjacker nitro shocks, new wheels and run 31X10.5X15 Kumho Venture MT's on the stock 3:27 gears, also i plan on looking into clutch packs to convert my open diff in the rear to a posi - cost i'm told is half that of a lockin diff. and i'm going to run 4:10 gears.. and that's it... if anything later on i'll put on a james duff 2.5" supension lift and change the tire size to 32X12.5X15 and that's if i feel the need...
i really just realized that the truck is my only form of transportation, a daily driver and i only go off-roading 2-3 times a month if that... so lifting the truck is more for asthetics (looks) than for real off-road purposes...

so i guess i have just polished my own supension set-up...

check out my thread on the Jersey X going up with pics here>>>>>>
