MA Audio still rates their amps in RMS

Fosgate 501BD. Digital class, single channel amp, capable of about 500-700wrms into a 2ohm load. This amp will totally give you good dreams. :)

YOur going to have to spend 1000$ to get an amp that will properly power both of those subs, so you might want two, And you seem to like RF, so id go with two 351M's. That will work out great.

well i got ahold of one signle channel amp from friend, still waiting on sub to get here, will it have two speaker connections or one? How would I connect them if two just put both wires in the single out on the amp?
help
thnks

If its a single channel, it will only have 1 set of speakers terminals.

^ very observant lol...what subs did u finally get? are the DVC or SVC and are they 4ohm or 2ohm or 8ohm? if they are single 4ohm vc subs then just run the wires directly to the amp..if there not then u will have to do a little bit extra wiring

They are two 12" RF's, SVC, 4 & 8 ohms according to ad...

He asked the question., so I answered. You may want to consider another career field. Comedy doesnt suit you.

Well handwritten on the manual for the subs, that came with the box, it says "wired at 8 ohm" and on the back "upgraded to 8 ohm", there is no way for me to tell which speaker i actually have as the manual covers many, there is a 4 ohm and an 8 ohm in 12", Any Ideas? I wired it by just putting both +'s from the speakers to the one on the amp and same for -'s... Another thing is my HU has L&R RCA's, and my amp 1, so what I did was put one Black from the Left output and the red from the Right, is that at all close or do I need an adapter or something??

Thanks a lot
Justin

Usually there is a model # stamped somewhere on the basket, or the magnet of the sub. There also could be a sticker on the bump plate(back of the magnet) that could have the model # on it. As for the RCA jacks. Just go to Radio Shack and get an adapter that converts 2 RCA jacks into 1. This will mix the sound from both L@R channels.Hope this helps! :)

Hey Thanks a lot,
I figured out the RCA thing one was a SubWoofer output and one was Front. The subs were 8 ohms. Another question I had, I hooked everything up and one of the subs does not work, the place that sold it to me, on ebay, is insisting it is something I did. My amp a RF 501bd the subs (2) RF 12" SVC 8ohm, I wired them parallel into the single speaker out on my mono amplifier. The Speaker is "stiff" it does not move in and out freely. The guy tried to tell me that w/subs one could go out right away and the other later if I kept running it the same way. Is that true? I wired them parallel so that would give me a 4 ohm load, the amp just says that they have to be a minimum of 2 ohms, that should have all worked right?
thanks
justin

It should have been fine. From what you are telling me, it appears the voice coil in one of your woofers is no longer aligned causing friction. This does not allow the cone to move up and down, thus not producing sound. Sounds to me like he sold you a bad woofer, or it was damaged in shipping.

Alright thanks....

Update!

bad news my ex was broken into. Among many other things my box was taken, THEIVES SUCK!!!!! :fire: anyway they didn't get my amp so im now looking at some other options for subs and enclosures that would work well w/this setup...

Yeah theives suck b@lls, pitiful pieces of trash anyhow...

What amp do you have again? BD500.1 right?

it's what, like 550-600 @ 2 ohms... sounds fine for a pair of 10"s or a single 12" ?
