Hello all I have heard you can paint your rotors and I would like to do so becasue as you can see the rust is an eye sore.

DO I just get heat resistance paint or is there a special paint to use?

i would use high heat paint and dont paint the "face" of the rotor ( silver part ) as that is used for stopping, just hit the rusted spots

Caliper paint is specifically designed for the corosive brake dust and heat that your brakes have to deal with. Many colors available. BN

Oh, and also cover ( mask off ) the braking surface so you don't get overspray on it. This could ruin your brakes and pads. BN

Hit it with whatever color rattle can paint you want. It will hold up just fine, and if it gets bad enough or dirty enough that you have to pull the wheels off and clean them, you can just spray them again. Try to keep the paint off of the braking surface, but the brakes will burn any excess off quickly anyway. I have been doing this on several vehicles for the past decade without issue...I see no need to use special paint.

Thank you all for the suggestion.

Will hit auto store this weekend and give it a go.
