I have a 2002 XLS 4WD. Have questions on the following - has anyone done these things???

I plan to buy an aftermarket class III tow bar for the rear. Local places price at about $190 new. Is this an easy job (taking off the class II)? How about putting on the 7 pin elec connector instead of the 4 pin one?

Also, roof rack cross bars price at $40 each from local Ford dealer. Any suggestions as to what kind to get - original Ford ones or others? I just want to haul normal stuff up top (lumber, etc) using bungees.

I don't have 3rd row seat - any recommendations on rear cargo area tray/mats? Where to buy, etc.?

Thanks,
Tom

Class III hitch, look on ebay.. You can find new ones for around $100 or less. It easy to install. I believe it uses the same mounts as the Class II hitch.

Roof Rack cross bars.. Go to Crazy Ray's junk yard down in Jessup, MD.. Route 1 about a mile or so past Rt 175. You can probably get them used for $10 each or less.

Go to Summit Racing or JCwhitney and order one of those husky rear cargo liners. They're nice. If you have any other questions, just ask.
