Hello everyone,

I have a 98 Mounty and I need to remove the stock running boards, without damaging the body paint, etc. I'm not too worried about the running boards themselves, although they are in excellent condition...

After all the metal brackets are pulled from underneath, do you then pull the painted plastic parts straight off the body, or do you sorta slide them upward off the clips?

Thanks for any help!

If i remember right, you just pull. It might make it easier to try and pull the running boards away from the body as much as you can, and try to pinch the plastic clips with needle nose pliers. Should make them come right out.

Thanks for the info - I'll carefully (forcefully) pull on them. I'll take a few pic's for the forum too.
